정금형의 ‹비디오 투어›는 '이미 끝난 전시 영상 투어 이벤트'이다. ‹비디오 투어›에서 정금형은 런던의 델피나 파운데이션(Delfina Foundation)에서 2017년9월 28일에 개막하여 11월 11일에 폐막한 본인의 두 번째 개인전 ‹개인소장품:언퍼폼드 오브제›(Private Collection:Unperformed Objects) 의 기록영상을틀어놓고 전시에 설치되었던 오브제들에 대해 시시콜콜한 이야기들을 늘어놓을 예정이다. 그런데 여기서 정금형이 소장품에 대해 늘어놓을 잡스러운 이야기는정금형 자신에게나 의미 있을 가능성이 높다. 그런 이야기들이 정금형의 작업을 이해하는데 필요하거나 도움이 되는 내용이라고 볼 수 있을 지는 의문이다. '전시를보지 못한 사람들을 위해서'라는 핑계로 이미 끝난 전시를 영상으로 투어하는 정금형의 ‹비디오 투어›는 과거의 전시를 극장의 무대로 불러와 잠시되살려보려는 헛된 노력이며 지나간 전시에 대한 부수적이고 자질구레한 행사이다.
Geumhyung Jeong’s ‹Video Tour› is a ‘video tour event of an already expired exhibition’. During ‹Video Tour›, Jeong will present footage of her second solo exhibition entitled <Private Collection : Unperformed Objects>, held from September 28 to November 11, 2017 at Delfina Foundation in London and she will talk about the objects she installed for the show. However, it is most probable that the trivial stories of her collection will only be meaningful to herself. We could question ourselves if these stories will be of any need or help to understand her work. Jeong’s ‹Video Tour› showcasing an already expired exhibition, under the pretext of ‘showing for those who have not yet seen the exhibition’, is a futile effort to bring the past show to stage as well as a secondary and petty event about her last solo exhibition.
